The Municipality of Polis Chrysochous calls on citizens not to attempt to touch, remove or kill snakes and other reptiles.
In a statement, the Municipality points out that the Reptile and Amphibian Park operates in Neo Chorio, which aims to protect, promote and safely manage reptiles.
On the occasion of the operation of the Park, the Municipality calls on citizens to be especially careful in case they spot a snake or other reptile in a residential area, on a street, yard or other place where the animal may be in danger or cause concern.
According to the announcement, citizens should not attempt to touch, remove or kill the animal. On the contrary, they are invited to contact the authorities immediately, so that the necessary management can be carried out and, where necessary, its safe collection and transport.
For reptile detection incidents, citizens can contact the person in charge of the Reptile and Amphibian Park, Tasos Tsappis at 26-323557, and/or Vicky Theodorou at 26-322520.
The Municipality emphasizes that the protection of reptiles is an important part of the preservation of biodiversity and the natural balance of the area.
"With everyone's cooperation, we can contribute to ensuring that these animals are treated safely and respectfully," he said in a statement.
