MAJOR ROAD WORKS
Famagusta-Larnaca-Larnaca Airport Motorway
On the Larnaca Airport-Paralimni motorway, as well as the Larnaca-Kofinos and Larnaca-Nicosia motorways, during the period 27/07/2026-30/09/2026, from Monday to Thursday, between the hours of 08:30 – 14:30, irrigation works will be carried out on the slopes of the motorways in both directions by the Department of Forestry. During the works, part of the shoulder of the motorway will be closed, in sections of 300 meters at a time. Traffic will not be affected.
On the Larnaca Airport - Paralimni motorway, from 27/07/2026 to 30/09/2026, from Monday to Thursday, between the hours of 08:30 - 14:30, watering works will be carried out on the slopes of the motorway in both directions. On the Larnaca Airport - Rizoelia motorway in both directions, from Monday 31/08/2026 to Thursday 10/09/2026, daily, except weekends, between the hours of 08:30 - 15:30, watering works will be carried out on the central island by the Forestry Department. During the works, the right lane adjacent to the central island of the motorway will be closed in sections, for a length of 1.5 km. at a time and traffic will be diverted to the adjacent lane.
Larnaca-Kofinou Motorway
On the Larnaca-Kofinou motorway, as well as the Larnaca-Famagusta and Larnaca-Nicosia motorways, during the period 27/07/2026-30/09/2026, from Monday to Thursday, between the hours of 08:30 – 14:30, watering works will be carried out on the slopes of the motorways in both directions by the Department of Forestry. During the works, part of the shoulder of the motorway will be closed, in sections of 300 meters at a time. Traffic will not be affected.
On the Larnaca - Kofinou motorway, during the period 27/07/2026 - 30/09/2026, from Monday to Thursday, between the hours of 08:30 - 14:30, irrigation works will be carried out on the slopes of the motorway in both directions. On the old Larnaca - Kofinou road, during the period from Monday 31/08/2026 to and including Friday 25/09/2026 between the hours of 08:00 - 16:00 daily except weekends, pipeline construction works will be carried out by the Water Development Department. During the above period, a section of the road between the villages of Angleisidon and Kofinou will be closed for a length of approximately 100 meters, at three simultaneous points, and traffic will be diverted to an adjacent lane using traffic lights.
On the motorway between the Kalo Chorio roundabout and Kofinou in both directions, from Monday 31/08/2026 until Thursday 10/09/2026, daily, except weekends, between the hours of 08:30 – 15:30, watering works will be carried out on the central island by the Forestry Department. During the works, the right lane adjacent to the central island of the motorway will be closed in sections, for a length of 1.5 km. each time, and traffic will be diverted to the adjacent lane.
Larnaca-Nicosia Motorway
On the Larnaca-Nicosia Motorway, as well as the Larnaca-Famagusta and Larnaca-Kofinos Motorways, during the period 27/07/2026-30/09/2026, from Monday to Thursday, between the hours of 08:30 – 14:30, irrigation works will be carried out on the slopes of the motorways in both directions by the Department of Forestry. On the Larnaca – Nicosia motorway and during the period 27/07/2026-30/09/2026, from Monday to Thursday, between the hours of 08:30 – 14:30, watering works will be carried out on the slopes of the motorway in both directions. During the works, part of the shoulder of the motorway will be closed, in sections of 300 meters at a time. Traffic will not be affected.
On the Larnaca-Nicosia motorway, in the section from the Rizoelia roundabout to the exit to Nisou and vice versa, from Monday 31/08/2026 until Thursday 10/09/2026, daily, except weekends and Fridays, between the hours of 09:00-14:30, watering works will be carried out on the central island by the Forestry Department. During the works, the right lane adjacent to the central island of the motorway will be closed from one direction for a length of 1.5 km. at a time and traffic will be diverted to the adjacent lane.
On the Nicosia-Larnaca motorway, from Monday 24/08/2026 until Thursday 10/09/2026, except Friday and Saturday from 08:30 a.m. until 14:00 p.m. . pruning and cleaning works will be carried out on the central island of the motorway. During the works, the right lane adjacent to the central island will be closed in sections, for a length of approximately 2,000m. each time and traffic will be diverted to the adjacent lanes.
On the Nicosia-Larnaca motorway in both directions, from Monday 31/08/2026 to Thursday 03/09/2026, between the hours of 09.00 in the morning and 15.00 in the afternoon, work will be carried out to replace damaged parapets on the central island. During the works, the right lane in both directions will be cut off in sections with the use of warning signs, safety cones and illuminated arrows.
Limassol-Nikosia Motorway
On the Nicosia-Limassol Motorway, from the GSP roundabout to the junction with the Nicosia-Larnaca Motorway (A2) in both directions from Wednesday 08/07/2026 to Wednesday 30/09/2026, daily except weekends and holidays, between the hours of 08:30 - 15:00, the Department of Forestry will periodically carry out watering works for plants on the embankments and slopes.
On the Nicosia-Limassol Motorway, in both directions, from Monday 31/08/2026 to Thursday 03/09/2026, between the hours of 09:00 in the morning and 15:00 in the afternoon, work will be carried out to replace damaged parapets on the central island. During the works, the right lane in both directions will be partially closed using warning signs, safety cones and illuminated arrows.
Limassol-Paphos Motorway
On the section of the motorway between Erimi and Petra tou Romiou, from Monday 07/09/2026 to Tuesday 15/12/2026, between the hours of 07:00 a.m. and 15:00 p.m. excluding weekends, periodic watering works will be carried out on the central island by the Forestry Department. During the works, the right lane will be closed at all times, for a length of approximately 2000 m. and traffic will be diverted to the left lane.
On sections of the motorway in both directions, at a road length of 1.5 – 2 km/day, from Monday 31/08/2026 until Friday 11/09/2026, excluding weekends, from 8:00 to 15:00, periodic irrigation works will be carried out by the Forestry Department, on the central dividing island, for a total length of approximately 17.5 km. During the works, the right lane will be partially closed and traffic will be diverted to the left lane.
Nicosia-Kokkinotrimithia-Akaki Motorway
On the Nicosia-Denia Motorway, from the Archangelos interchange to the Kokkinotrimithia roundabout in both directions, from Wednesday 08/07/2026 to Wednesday 30/09/2026, daily except weekends and holidays, between the hours of 08:30 – 15:00, the Forestry Department will periodically carry out watering works for the plants on the slopes and slopes.
Nicosia District
In Nicosia and Aglantzia, as part of the project “Improvement of Famagusta Avenue in Nicosia”, works lasting 24 months are underway from 20 February 2025, and are expected to be completed by 22 February 2027. Specifically, they include Famagusta Avenue from its junction with Kalavryton Street to the Sopaz roundabout, approximately 1.7 km long and a secondary road network approximately 0.8 km long, consisting of a section of Kalavryton, Paphos, Madaris and Semelis streets.
On the interurban road Astromeritis-Karvounas-Troodos, beyond the Community of Evrychou, from Monday 24/08/2026 until Friday 18/09/2026, daily except weekends and holidays, between the hours of 07:00 – 17:00, excavation works will be carried out to install a water supply pipeline. During the works, one lane of traffic in the direction of Troodos will be closed for a section of approximately 100 meters and traffic will be diverted to the other lane, with the use of temporary traffic lights.
Limassol District
On the Limassol-Troodos road near the Tall Tree, from Monday 24/08/2026 to Wednesday 23/12/2026, a private company will carry out works on the construction of a retaining wall with an integrated lifting grid for existing walls. During the works, one lane of traffic will be closed for a length of approximately 100 m and traffic will be diverted to the adjacent lane using temporary traffic lights.
On the Episkopi-Mandria road, near the village of Souni-Zanatzia, from Monday 31/08/2026 to Thursday 31/12/2026, a private company, on behalf of the Water Development Department, will carry out works on the installation of a water supply pipeline. During the works, one lane of traffic will be closed for a length of 100 m. approximately and traffic will be diverted to the adjacent lane using temporary traffic lights.
Larnaca District
On the Larnaca Airport - Paralimni, Larnaca - Kofinou and Larnaca - Nicosia motorways of the Larnaca District, during the period 27/07/2026 - 30/09/2026, from Monday to Thursday, between the hours of 08:30 - 14:30, watering works will be carried out on the slopes of the motorways in both directions, by the Forestry Department. During the works, part of the shoulder of the motorway will be closed, in sections of 300 meters at a time. Traffic will not be affected.
In Larnaca, on Nikou Pattihi Avenue, next to Mystra Street, from Wednesday 26/08/2026 until Wednesday 09/09/2026, construction works will be carried out on a pedestrian crossing, as part of the Project “Priority Projects of the Sustainable Urban Mobility Plan (SUMP) of Larnaca – Implementation of Bus Lanes and Cycle Paths”. During the works on the above section, with a total length of approximately 100 meters, the right lane will remain closed to traffic in both directions. At the same time, the right-turn route from Nikou Pattihi Avenue to Mystra Street will remain closed to traffic. Traffic towards Mystra Street will be channelled via Konstantinoupoleos Street, with the use of appropriate temporary road markings.
In Aradippou, at the intersection of Omirou Street and Spyrou Kyprianou Avenue, from Thursday 03/09/2026 to Thursday 17/09/2026, island reconstruction works will be carried out, as part of the Project “Priority Projects of the Sustainable Urban Mobility Plan (SUMP) of Larnaca – Implementation of Bus Lanes and Cycle Paths”. The works will be carried out on a section approximately 50 meters long. During the works, the intersection in the above section will remain closed to traffic. In addition, left turns from Spyrou Kyprianou Avenue to Omirou Street will not be allowed for vehicles moving from Aradippou to the Industrial Area. In addition, the left lane will remain closed on a section of Spyros Kyprianou Avenue, in the direction from the Industrial Area to Aradippou and vehicle traffic will be conducted via the right lane. Access to and from Aradippou will be via Odysseas Elytis Street, and Kyriakou Matsis Avenue with the help of appropriate temporary road markings.
On the old Larnaca-Kofinou road, from Monday 31/08/2026 to Friday 25/09/2026, between the hours of 8:00-16:00, daily except weekends, pipeline construction works will be carried out by the Water Development Department. During the above period, a section of the road, between the villages of Angleisidon and Kofinou, will be closed for a length of approximately 100 meters, at three simultaneous points, and traffic will be directed to an adjacent lane with the use of traffic lights.
