The processes between Cyprus and Israel to reach an agreement on the joint natural gas field located between the Cypriot "Aphrodite" field and the Israeli "Isai" continue within the first fortnight of October, as stated by the Minister of Energy, Trade and Industry Michalis Damianos.
"There will be meetings within the first fortnight of October with the aim of closing the agreement before the end of October," he said.
The discussions, which take place at a technocratic level, involve the technocrats of the two states and their legal advisors together with the management companies of the two deposits.
The difference between the two countries lies in the fact that the natural gas reservoir of the "Aphrodite" marine block intersects geologically with the "Isai" in the Israeli EEZ. The operator of "Aphrodite" located in Block 12 of the Cypriot EEZ is the American Chevron.
