A luxury car belonging to a Russian permanent resident of Talas was stolen last night.
The vehicle was spotted at dawn on the big bend of the Emba - Tala road, opposite the Agios Charalambos high school.
The perpetrators lost control of the vehicle and hit the right side of the road, falling into a rainwater collection ditch.
The perpetrators abandoned the vehicle and examinations are being carried out to locate and arrest them.

The presence and action of the Police last night was intense, throughout Cyprus, with organized patrols in key points of urban areas, with the aim of preventing serious criminal acts, ensuring public order and increasing the sense of security of the public.
As a result of the preventive police operations, five persons were arrested for various offences, including public insult and refusal to provide evidence, driving under the influence of drugs and with a deprived driving licence, causing concern, drunkenness, causing malicious damage, common assault and possession of drugs.
As part of these operations, during the night, 885 drivers and 397 passengers were stopped and checked. At the same time, 62 inspections of premises were carried out, with the aim of dealing with phenomena of delinquency, where 10 complaints emerged.
During traffic checks carried out, 309 complaints were made, concerning various traffic violations, while 10 investigated cases of traffic violations also emerged.
Of the complaints made, 99 concerned exceeding the speed limit, while as part of the police examinations, eight vehicles were detained.
391 alcohol tests were carried out, from which 22 complaints emerged, while preliminary drug tests recorded a positive result.
Policing operations, for the prevention and suppression of crime, continue daily, with an increased/enhanced police presence, targeted controls and immediate operational action, with the aim of increasing the sense of security of citizens/protecting citizens and ensuring public order.

The Police arrested a 45-year-old man today, as part of the investigation of the case of the escape of a 19-year-old defendant from the Lakatamia Police Detention Center.
The 45-year-old was arrested on a court warrant for the crime of complicity after committing an offense, while the search for the fugitive continues.
The fugitive is Medyan Al Shaban, 19 years old, a Syrian citizen, who is wanted in connection with a case of escape from legal detention, committed on September 25, 2026 in the province of Nicosia.
A meeting was held today at the Police Headquarters for the case, during which the data so far were put on the table. The Nicosia Police Director informed the leadership about the actions taken from the moment the escape was established.
