The risk of causing and spreading forest fires will be at the "Red Alert" level tomorrow, Sunday, August 23, according to an announcement by the Department of Forests.
The Department warmly appeals to the public to exercise special caution during their excursions and to completely avoid actions or activities that may cause a fire.
It reminds that causing a fire is an offense that carries severe penalties, based on the Forests Law and the Prevention and Extinguishing of Fires in the Countryside Law.
Anyone who notices smoke or fire is asked to immediately contact 1407, for the Department of Forests, or 112, for the Fire Service.
