PAYSAFE SCAM CONTINUES

PAYSAFE SCAM CONTINUES - Pafos Live 18 August 2026

In more than ten cases recently, kiosk owners and employees have been deceived by fraudsters with Paysafe cards.

Paysafe cards are prepaid cards that allow secure and anonymous online payments, without the use of a bank account or credit card. They are purchased from kiosks, mainly in values of €5-€100 and are used by entering a 16-digit code.

What exactly do scammers do:

They visit the kiosk and ask for the €100 card.

The kiosk issues the receipt in which the code is present.

Without the owners or employees realizing it, they take a photo of the code.

They then pretend that they have forgotten the money or that the money on their card is not enough and ask for the cancellation of the conciliation.

But they manage to enter the code and get the money credited.
