MAJOR ROAD WORKS
Famagusta-Larnaca-Larnaca Airport Motorway
On the Larnaca Airport-Paralimni motorway, as well as the Larnaca-Kofinos and Larnaca-Nicosia motorways, during the period 27/07/2026-30/09/2026, from Monday to Thursday, between the hours of 08:30 – 14:30, irrigation works will be carried out on the slopes of the motorways in both directions by the Department of Forestry. During the works, part of the shoulder of the motorway will be closed, in sections of 300 meters at a time. Traffic will not be affected.

On the Larnaca - Kofinou motorway, during the period 27/07/2026 - 30/09/2026, from Monday to Thursday, between the hours of 08:30 - 14:30, irrigation works will be carried out on the slopes of the motorway in both directions. During the works, part of the shoulder of the motorway will be closed, in sections of 300 meters at a time. Traffic will not be affected.
On the old Larnaca - Kofinou road, during the period from Tuesday 4/8/2026 to Friday 28/8/2026, daily except weekends and summer holidays (17-21/8/2026), pipeline construction works will be carried out by the Water Development Department. During the above period, a section of the road between the villages of Angleisidon and Kofinou will be closed for a length of approximately 100 meters, at three simultaneous points, and traffic will be diverted to an adjacent lane using traffic lights.
Larnaca-Nicosia Motorway
On the Larnaca-Nicosia motorway, as well as the Larnaca-Famagusta and Larnaca-Kofinou motorways, during the period 27/07/2026-30/09/2026, from Monday to Thursday, between the hours of 08:30 – 14:30, watering works will be carried out on the slopes of the motorways in both directions by the Department of Forestry. During the works, part of the shoulder of the motorway will be closed, in sections of 300 meters at a time. Traffic will not be affected.

Limassol-Nicosia Motorway
On the Nicosia - Limassol Motorway, from the GSP roundabout to the junction with the Nicosia - Larnaca Motorway (A2) in both directions from Wednesday 08/07/2026 to Wednesday 30/09/2026, daily except weekends and holidays, between the hours of 08:30 - 15:00, the Department of Forestry will periodically carry out watering works for plants on the slopes and embankments.
Nicosia-Kokkinotrimithia-Akaki Motorway
On the Nicosia-Denia Motorway, from the Archangelos interchange to the Kokkinotrimithia roundabout in both directions, from Wednesday 08/07/2026 to Wednesday 30/09/2026, daily except weekends and holidays, between the hours of 08:30 – 15:00, the Forestry Department will periodically carry out watering works for plants on the slopes and slopes.
Nicosia District
In Nicosia and Aglantzia, as part of the project “Improvement of Famagusta Avenue in Nicosia”, works lasting 24 months are underway from 20 February 2025, and are expected to be completed by 22 February 2027. Specifically, they include Famagusta Avenue from its junction with Kalavryton Street to the Sopaz roundabout, approximately 1.7 km long and a secondary road network approximately 0.8 km long, consisting of a section of Kalavryton, Paphos, Madaris and Semelis streets.
Limassol District
On the Limassol-Troodos road near the Tall Tree, from Monday 24/08/2026 until Wednesday 23/12/2026, a private company will be carrying out wall construction work support with an integrated lifting grid of existing walls. During the works, one lane of traffic will be closed for a length of approximately 100 m and traffic will be diverted to the adjacent lane using temporary traffic lights.
On sections of the Limassol - Nicosia and Limassol - Paphos Motorway, from the Skarinou exit to the Petra tou Romiou exit in both directions, from Monday 17/8/2026 to Thursday 27/8/2026, except Fridays and weekends, between the hours of 20:00 in the evening until 5:30 in the morning of the next day, safety guardrail replacement works will be carried out. During the execution of the works, the expressway lane of the
Motorway will be partially closed for a length of approximately 200 m and traffic will be diverted to the adjacent lane.
Larnaca District
On Faneromenis Avenue in Larnaca, in the section from the Kamares roundabout to the Agios Charalambos Leprosy Asylum roundabout, from Monday 22 June 2026 to Monday 17 August 2026, construction works will be carried out for photo-controlled pedestrian crossings, sidewalks, green spaces and asphalt pavements, also within the framework of the Project “Priority Projects of the Sustainable Urban Mobility Plan (SUMP) of Larnaca – Implementation of Bus Lanes and Cycle Paths”. During the works, temporary traffic regulations will be implemented on Faneromeni Avenue, in a section of approximately 1,000 meters. During the works, the direction from the Kamares Roundabout to the city center will remain closed to traffic. Traffic destined for the city center via Faneromeni Avenue will be diverted via Nikos and Despinas Pattihi Avenue, Kalymnou Street, Agios Georgios Makris Street, Kaisareias Street, 1st April Street, ending at the Agios Charalambos Leprosy Roundabout. In addition, the right lane in the direction from the city center to the Kamares Roundabout will remain closed, with traffic being conducted via the left lane. For the purpose of serving local access, the existing one-way street on Verias, Paros, Naxos and Pierias streets will be temporarily removed, which will temporarily operate as dead ends. Entry will be allowed exclusively to residents and authorized vehicles of the area.
On Dimitras Avenue, in Larnaca, from Friday 17/07/2026 to Friday 21/08/2026, works will be carried out to replace a pipe drain and construct sidewalks, as part of the Project “Priority Projects of the Sustainable Urban Mobility Plan (SUMP) of Larnaca – Implementation of Bus Lanes and Cycle Paths”. During the works, a section of the avenue will remain closed to traffic. Regarding the section of Dimitras Street, from the intersection of Dimitras Street with Apollonos Street, this will be converted into a dead end and entry will only be allowed to business customers.

On Nikos Pattihis Avenue, from Tuesday 04/08/2026 until Monday 24/08/2026, as part of the project “Priority Projects of the Sustainable Urban Mobility Plan (SUMP) of Larnaca – Implementation of Bus Lanes and Cycle Paths”, construction works of sidewalks and crossings will be carried out. The works will be carried out on a section of approximately 200 meters in length. During the works, in the direction from the Kamares Roundabout to the Center of Larnaca, the left lane of traffic will remain closed on a section of Nikos Pattihis Avenue, from the intersection with Mystra Street to the photo-controlled intersection near the Central Fire Station. Vehicle traffic will be carried out via the right lane. In addition, left turns from Nikos Pattihis Avenue to Grivas Digenis Avenue will not be allowed for vehicles moving from the Kamares Roundabout to the City Center.
In Larnaca, at the intersection of Grivas Digenis Avenue and Giannos Kranidiotis Avenue, from Monday 10/08/2026 to Monday 24/08/2026, sidewalk construction works will be carried out, as part of the Project “Priority Projects of the Sustainable Urban Mobility Plan (SUMP) of Larnaca – Implementation of Bus Lanes and Cycle Paths”. The works will be carried out on a section of approximately 50 meters in length. Vehicles traveling towards the City Center will not be allowed to turn left from Griva Digeni Avenue to Giannou Kranidioti Avenue during the works. Access to Giannou Kranidiotis Avenue will be carried out via Agios Georgios Kontou Street and Olympou Street, with the help of appropriate temporary road markings.
In Larnaca, on Omirou Street in Aradippou, from Wednesday 12/08/2026 to Friday 21/08/2026 excluding weekends, as part of the Project “Priority Projects of the Sustainable Urban Mobility Plan (SUMP) of Larnaca – Implementation of Bus Lanes and Cycle Paths”, sidewalk construction works will be carried out at the intersection of Omirou Street and Kyriakou Matsi Avenue. The works will be carried out in sections, in a section approximately 20 meters long. During the execution of the works, part of the traffic lane will be occupied, and traffic will be channelled through the remaining available section of the lane, with the use of appropriate temporary road markings and the necessary safety measures at the affected points.
