In the period 24 to 30 August 2026, a nationwide enlightenment and policing campaign was carried out, with road checks to deal with hands-free driving, including the use of a mobile phone or other object while driving.
During the campaign, a total of 550 complaints emerged from the Pancyprian road inspections, of which 520 concerned the use of a mobile phone while driving and 30 the use of another object while driving.
