A total of 60 products present a risk to the health and safety of consumers and have been registered in the Safety Gate system.
The Consumer Protection Service, as the single point of contact in Cyprus for the operation of the Safety Gate system, states that these products were detected in the markets of various EU member states and then communicated to the Safety Gate system for consumer information.

The 60 products were distributed, for the purpose of controlling the Cypriot market, to the following competent government authorities: Consumer Protection Service: 16 products, Department of Electromechanical Services: 17 products. Department of Labour Inspection: 13 products. Department of Road Transport: 8 products. Health Services: 2 products. Environment Department: 2 products. Mining Service: 1 product. Ministry of Interior (Construction Products Sector): 1 product.
According to the announcement, consumers can refer directly to the Safety Gate website, to search for all the products that have been notified to the system and get relevant information to avoid using them.
It is noted that the Safety Gate website is also provided in Greek.
The Consumer Protection Service invites economic operators, in case they place or have placed these products on the market, to immediately notify the respective competent authority.
Furthermore, it calls on consumers, in case they own the above products, where it is deemed appropriate, to stop using them, to return them to the store from which they have purchased them and to inform the respective competent authority.
