30 YEARS OF ISAAC-SOLOMOS - THE PROGRAM OF 8 AUGUST FOR THE MOTORCYCLISTS' GATHERINGS - Filenews 5/8

With the established event of remembrance and honor, as well as with the 30th annual memorial service, the actions for the completion of 30 years since the murders of Tasos Isaac and Solomos Solomos are completed.

With the participation of motorcyclists from Greece and specifically from Leonidio, the Isaac-Solomos Memorial Initiative will carry out on Friday, August 7, a trek to symbolic stations and barricades in Nicosia.
On Saturday, August 8, there will be large marches of motorcyclists from all the cities of free Cyprus, with the slogan "With memory as a guide, with freedom as a compass".

The places and times of pre-gathering are the following:

Nicosia: GSP West Stand, at 18:00
Limassol: Agios Athanasios Industrial Area Car Park, at 18:00
Larnaca: Rizoelia Roundabout, near the Avdelerou exit, at 18:30
Famagusta: Ayia Napa Roundabout, at 19:00
Paphos: Pafiakos Stadium Car Park, at 17:00

The main event is scheduled for 20:00 on Saturday, at the Isaac-Solomos monument, on Nikou Psara Street in Paralimni.

This year's event is organized by the Municipality of Paralimni-Deryneia and the Isaac-Solomos Memorial Initiative and is under the auspices of the President of the Republic.

According to the Initiative, the aim is to convey the messages received by the motorcyclists during the long journey that took place in July in Greece and, above all, to reiterate the request for justice and execution of the arrest warrants against those wanted for the murders of Isaac and Solomos.

The Initiative also points out that the struggle of remembrance is linked to the request for a return to the occupied territories, with Kyrenia as the symbolic destination of each march.

After the event, the motorcyclists will spend the night at the occupation roadblock of Deryneia, in order to attend the 30th annual memorial service, which will be held on Sunday, August 9 at the church of Agios Dimitrios in Paralimni.
