YELLOW WARNING TODAY - FROM 2-4pm - ISOLATED RAIN IN THE MOUNTAINS POSSIBLE - Filenews 16/7
Seasonal low pressure affects the area.
Initially today, the weather will be generally mostly clear, although on the south coast there will be morning local fog and low clouds, which will soon dissipate. Gradually there will be increased local clouds, which in the mountains after noon are likely to give isolated rain. Winds will be mainly southwest to northwest, light to moderate, 3 to 4 Beaufort and gradually until the afternoon on the coast moderate to strong, 4 to 5 Beaufort. The sea will be generally calm to a little rough and temporarily in the afternoon in the windward a little rough. The temperature will rise to around 40 degrees inland, around 32 on the southwest and west coasts, around 34 on the rest of the coasts around and 30 degrees in the higher mountains.
The Department of Meteorology has issued a yellow warning for an extremely high temperature, as according to the forecast it will reach 40 degrees Celsius. The warning will be in effect from 14:00 to 16:00 in the afternoon.
Tonight the weather will remain generally mostly clear, while later there will be increased low clouds, mainly on the south and east coasts. Winds will continue to blow mainly southwest to northwest, light and temporarily to moderate, 3 to 4 Beaufort. The sea will be generally calm to a little rough, however locally in the west and north it will remain a little rough. The temperature will drop to around 23 degrees inland and on the coasts and around 20 degrees in the higher mountains.
On Friday, the weather will be generally mostly clear with temporarily increased clouds, however during the midday hours and after, clouds that will develop in the mountains are likely to give isolated rains.
On Saturday and Sunday, the weather in most areas will remain mostly clear with temporarily increased clouds, however clouds that will develop in the mountains after noon are expected to give isolated rains or even a storm.
The temperature until Sunday is not expected to change appreciably, to continue to fluctuate at levels above normal for the season.
