The major program of asphalting and improvements to central points of the road network of the city of Paphos is slowly coming to completion, giving breathing space to the thousands of affected motorists and residents of busy areas of the city every day.
The mayor of Paphos, Angelos Onisiforou, stressed to "F" that the necessary inconvenience of the citizens, as well as visitors, is coming to an end, with the results of the improvement intervention of the municipality becoming immediately visible in a few days.
Especially with regard to the huge problem that arose for many months at the exit of the city to the Paphos - Limassol highway, due to the fundamental change of the road to Konia, the mayor of Paphos emphasizes that the asphalting of the road of Konia is in full swing, with many crews working non-stop and intensively, so that the project can be completed as promised by the municipal authority.
Barring any unforeseen circumstances, he announced, the road will be handed over to traffic this afternoon. This is our goal, and all efforts are focused on completing the project on time.
It is worth noting that, according to the project contract, its completion was scheduled for the end of September, he pointed out.
However, the Municipality of Paphos, with proper coordination and continuous monitoring, managed to significantly speed up the works, so that the project could be completed much earlier than the conventional schedule.
The contribution of the supervising engineers and the staff of the Municipality of Paphos, who are on site every day, coordinate the work and work closely with the contractor, is also decisive, so that the project proceeds safely, qualitatively and without unnecessary delays, stressed Mr. Onisiforou.
