The Department of Road Transport warns of the risk of injuries or fire caused by specific vehicles, according to information received from the Consumer Protection Service, during the 25th and 26th week of 2026, about dangerous non-food products notified on the website of the EU Early Warning System (Safety Gate).

Specifically, the TOM warns of the risk of fire from the Eura Mobil Xtura caravan truck (22.01.2024 – 02.06.2026), for the Ligier Myli / JS50 quadricycle (10.2023 – 06.2026) and for the Nissan Qashqai passenger car (04.05.2021 – 17.10.2024).
In addition, it warns of the risk of injuries from passenger cars Skoda Fabia, Rapid, Yeti, Octavia, Superb, Citigo, Kodiaq, Roomster (23.00 05.2016 – 07.12.2017), Honda Odyssey (01.04.2017 – 30.04.2022), Cadillac, Chevrolet, GMC (18.01.2019 – 25.08.2021), Renault Austral (23.03.2023 – 23.01.2025), Bmw Série 1 (E82, E88) (08.05.2007 – 02.10.2013), Dacia DUSTER III, BIGSTER (09.01.2026 – 25.02.2026) and Bmw Série 1 (E81; E82; E87; E88) – Série 3 (E90; E91; E92; E93) (01.2011 – 06.2015), as well as for the Ford Ranger (4.03.2025 – 12.02.2026) and Mercedes-Benz UNIMOG 405, UNIMOG 437 (31.10.2025 – 18.12.2025) trucks.

It also warns of the risk of injury with regard to the Yokohama 126S 385/55R22.5 158L tyre (01.01.2023 – 01.10.2025), and for the ISOFIX Aguti fastening system (29.08.2017 – 27.04.2026).

The Department invites manufacturers, agents, distributors of the manufacturer, importers and sellers (including those acting online or remotely), who may have placed or are placing such products on the market of the Republic of Cyprus, to inform the Department of Road Transport.

It is noted that, in case the products in question are made available in the Republic of Cyprus, the above economic operators must take all necessary measures to ensure that these products are recalled as provided for in the relevant legislation.

The Department also invites consumers, in case they own the above cars, to contact the manufacturer or the manufacturer's representative or distributor for instructions. Any possession of the above vehicles is also examined on the basis of the registration certificate of the vehicle they own (stem) and the information included in it (e.g. range of construction, type/model number).

For accessories, where appropriate, the IFF invites consumers to stop using them and return them immediately to the place where they purchased them (if possible), informing the seller accordingly.

In the event that a manufacturer, representative, distributor of the manufacturer, importer or seller refuses to comply with the above consumer rights, the consumer is invited to submit his complaint in writing to the Consumer Protection Service through www.consumer.gov.cy website.
