Reactions from residents and passers-by are caused by a giant billboard placed in a kindergarten area, near the roundabout of Faneromeni Avenue in Larnaca.
The structure, the height of which is estimated to exceed ten meters, is located at a short distance from the road, while part of it extends over the pavement and towards the road surface. Its size and location have raised questions as to its compatibility with the provisions of the legislation on the Regulation of Roads and Buildings.
Filenews contacted the mayor of Larnaca, Andreas Vyras, who confirmed that the Municipality is aware of the case and has already taken the necessary actions.
As he mentioned, those responsible for the installation of the sign have been given an ultimatum until Monday, August 3, in order to either remove it or limit its dimensions, so that it complies with the relevant urban planning provisions.
Otherwise, the Municipality of Larnaca intends to take legal action against them.
