TALA - MEETING 31 JULY REGARDING VIEWS/SUGGESTIONS REGARDING URBAN PLANNING ZONES - Pafos Live 26/7
The community council of Tala is organizing an open meeting on July 31 regarding the upcoming revision of the urban planning zones.
According to the community leader Giannakis Konikkos, the gathering will take place at 7 pm on this day, in the event hall of the new church of the community and all residents and landowners are welcome.
They will be able to express their views and suggestions, which will be recorded by the council in order to be conveyed with the appropriate arguments to the competent council that examines the changes.

The Local Plan is normally prepared every 7–10 years. It is a comprehensive planning study that should be carried out by professional private-sector urban planners, following consultation with residents, organized community groups, and other stakeholders. Their views help shape the long-term vision for the community and identify the challenges that need to be addressed.
The study should examine a wide range of important issues, including:
- Water supply, which is a particularly critical issue due to the community's unique topography [and ongoing almost daily problems of bursts due to ancient pipework].
- Whether existing residential zones need to be expanded, and if so, in which directions.
- The need for agricultural, industrial, or other land-use zones.
- The need for cultural, recreational, and community facilities.
- Infrastructure, environmental protection, transportation, public spaces, and many other aspects that affect the future development and quality of life in the community.
Unfortunately, despite the broad scope and importance of the Local Plan, the only issue that seems to have attracted attention is whether the few remaining non-residential land parcels should be included within the residential zone.
