Issues of public safety and crime prevention, as well as the need to strengthen policing in areas with an increased concentration of migrant population, were discussed on Friday by the Minister of Justice and Public Order Costas Fytiris with a delegation from the Cyprus Institute of Demographic and Migration Policy.
According to an announcement by the Ministry, the head of the delegation was the President of the Institute, Andreas Morfitis, while representatives of the Cyprus Police also participated in the meeting.
During the meeting, the management of cases involving foreigners was also examined, as well as wider issues concerning areas with an increased concentration of migrant population.
Particular reference was made to the strengthening of prevention and policing, as well as to the need for cooperation between the Police and the local authorities and the competent services.
