PAPHOS - POLIS ROAD - TENDER HAS NOT YET BEEN AWARDED

PAPHOS - POLIS ROAD - TENDER HAS NOT YET BEEN AWARDED - Pafos Live 21/7

Three months after the opening of the financial offers for the Paphos-Polis Chrysochous road, as of mid-April 2026, the offer has not yet been awarded.

The two bids submitted, over€ 120 million, exceed the initial estimated value of the project, which was estimated at €90.2 million (before VAT).

The Department of Public Works has two options before it. To re-tender or negotiate with the lowest bidder with the aim of reducing costs.

Despite the fact that three months have passed since the submission of the tenders, there has been no result so far.

It is recalled that the Paphos – Polis Chrysochous highway has a total length of 31 km. Its construction is being promoted in separate phases and stages.

The first phase of the unfinished project, two lanes, will be completed, the second section from Stroumbi will be announced after or at the same time and then the other two lanes in the first section from Agia Marinouda to Stroumbi will be constructed.

The project includes tunnels, interchanges, viaducts, as well as crossings (upper and lower) to restore and ensure access to local roads.
