PAFOS MUNICIPALITY - CAMPAIGN TO ERASE SIGNS/GRAFFITI - Pafos Live 2/7
Crews of the municipality of Paphos have proceeded in recent days with extensive cleaning work and removal of illegal signs from various parts of the city. The campaign covered the historic center and the tourist area.
At the same time, pedestrian streets were cleaned with pressure machines in order to improve the image and functionality of the city. Crews removed illegal billboards and other objects that had been arbitrarily placed on sidewalks and other public spaces.
As pointed out in an announcement by the Municipality, the municipal authority and the Municipal Council are determined to ensure the proper functioning of the common areas, underlining that the streets, sidewalks and public spaces belong to all citizens and cannot be occupied arbitrarily.
The Municipality emphasizes that it supports business activity, but demands the same respect for pedestrians, people with disabilities, residents and visitors to the city. At the same time, he points out that the arbitrary occupation of public spaces and visual pollution are not consistent with the image of modern Paphos.
The announcement also emphasizes that order, cleanliness, aesthetics and compliance with the law are everyone's obligation, while assuring that the relevant controls and interventions will continue with consistency and determination, with the aim of a clean, functional and quality city for residents and visitors.
