The Command Posts of the British Bases (BB) in Dhekelia and Akrotiri are strengthening their capabilities with new special patrol vehicles and modern equipment, in the context of strengthening efforts to implement the legislation.
The four new vehicles, which have already been put into operation, will be used by the Control and Enforcement Officers of the Command Posts during their patrols, with the aim of detecting and dealing with administrative and environmental violations.
At the same time, the Officers have been equipped with body cameras, digital cameras and vests.

The Civilian Commander of Akrotiri, Giorgos Kiteos, said that the new vehicles and equipment are a significant enhancement to the operational capabilities of the teams.
As he stated: "The BB Management continues to strengthen its commitment to the implementation of the legislation, the protection of the environment and the service of the public, with the inclusion of new operational vehicles and bodycams for our Officers.
"These enhanced capabilities will improve our effectiveness in dealing with administrative and environmental violations, including illegal developments, arbitrary constructions and activities affecting our protected beaches.

"Our message is clear, the BB Management remains committed to the fair, professional and transparent implementation of the legislation.
"While we take decisive action against those who violate the law, our primary goal is to protect public safety, preserve our unique natural environment and support all those who use and enjoy these special areas responsibly."

The Political Administrator of Dhekelia, Maria Pieri-Kyriakidou, added: "The inclusion of the new patrol vehicles is a significant upgrade of the capabilities of the Control and Enforcement Officers. These vehicles allow our teams to maintain a stronger presence in the BB regions, work more effectively with local communities and provide more direct and efficient services.
"Enforcement Officers are in communities every day, working with residents, detecting and reporting violations, and helping to comply with BB legislation. The new vehicles enhance our presence, accessibility and immediate response to deliver even better services to our communities."
It is worth mentioning that in the photos published yesterday, the new Airbus H145 Jupiter HC Mk2 helicopters were also presented, which are a different version of the Airbus H145 M helicopters, which are available to the National Guard. Their main difference lies in their operational role, the Jupiter HC Mk2 is a general support and supply (Utility) helicopter, while the H145M is a purely military and heavily equipped combat (Multi-role/Attack) version.
The first of the three new helicopters made its maiden flight from Akrotiri Air Base.
