MUNICIPALITY OF AKAMAS - SINCE THEY DO NOT SEE THE MARINA, THEY PROCEED TO LANDSCAPE THE POTIMA - Filenews 30/7 by Dora Christodoulou

After the major project in Potima, that of the construction of the largest Marina in Cyprus, goes from delay to delay, the municipal authority of Akamas has decided in the meantime to proceed with the signing of an agreement with a firm of designers for the implementation of an integrated urban and tourist development project in this area of Kissonerga.

The agreement concerns the provision of consulting services and includes the preparation of studies, the preparation of architectural and technical plans, as well as the supervision of the projects to be implemented. The aim is to create modern and functional infrastructure, which will upgrade the area aesthetically and qualitatively, while enhancing its tourist and social footprint.

The project includes the creation of a tourist pavilion, the landscaping of the plot, the construction of a playground, an outdoor gym, a parking space, as well as the configuration of a pedestrian street, offering areas for recreation, sports and safe movement for residents and visitors.

The total amount of the contract amounts to €134,000.

With the implementation of the project, the "Potima" area is expected to be transformed into a modern, elegant and multifunctional public space, contributing substantially to the overall upgrade of the Municipal District of Kissonerga, pending the further upgrading of its role when the Paphos Marina is implemented.
