LARNACA - THEY ARE ALSO DEMOLISHING THE WOODEN SHACKS ON THE BEACH - PREMISES FOUND WITH ASBESTOS - Filenews 23/7 by Natasa Christoforou

The Larnaca District Administration has been carrying out a new broom operation since Thursday morning for the movement of caravans, but also for the demolition of wooden shacks on the sea, located in front of the fenced area, where part of the Land of tomorrow will be created. The demolition of the wooden shacks has already begun, while one with asbestos has also been found. The dismantling of the specific premises will be carried out by officials of the District Administration who wear special uniforms and have specifically taken security measures.

The issue was highlighted by "F" last Saturday by presenting images of two beaches in the area of the Larnaca-Dhekelia road which were illegally occupied, however no authority undertook to remove the illegality. With the intervention of the Minister of the Interior, Konstantinos Ioannou, instructions were given to the Larnaca District Administration to move caravans and shacks.

In the area of Land of tomorrow, 9 premises were created, most of them wooden, while three caravans were also located to which relevant notifications were given last Tuesday, when the sweep operation took place in the area next to the Larnaca Nautical Club. In fact, in one of the premises, with a terrace overlooking the sea, there was asbestos found.
