KONIA ROAD OPEN TO TRAFFIC AGAIN - Pafos Press 24/7
Konia Road was opened to traffic yesterday afternoon
Konia Road was opened to traffic yesterday at 4:00 pm, fully two-way, well ahead of schedule as stipulated in the relevant contract.
The Mayor of Paphos Municipality, Angelos Onisiforou, stated that the timely completion of the project is the result of the close cooperation of all parties involved. As he stated, while the contract provided for the completion and delivery of the project in September, thanks to the continuous coordination and daily monitoring by the Paphos Municipality, the Municipal Council, the supervising engineers, the Municipality staff and the cooperation with the contractor, the project was completed well ahead of schedule.
Mr. Onisiforou apologized for the temporary inconvenience suffered by citizens during the works and warmly thanked the public for their patience, understanding and cooperation.
“Our goal was and remains to complete the projects safely, with quality and in the shortest possible time, so as to limit inconvenience as much as possible and improve the daily lives of the citizens. We sincerely thank you for your patience and trust. We continue to work consistently, always focusing on serving the citizen,” he said.
For his part, the Deputy Mayor of Konia expressed his satisfaction with the opening of the road, congratulating and thanking both the supervising engineer of the Municipality of Paphos and the contractor for adhering to the agreed schedule.
At the same time, he particularly thanked the Mayor Angelos Onesiforou, noting that the meeting at which the decision to temporarily close the road was taken was held on his own initiative, so that the necessary interventions could be made and its delivery with two-way traffic would be possible.
The Deputy Mayor pointed out that, despite the opening of the road, drivers should exercise special caution, as the contractor will continue to carry out work until the project is fully completed.
In closing, he thanked the public for their patience during the work, expressing his belief that with the completion of the project, the satisfaction of residents and road users will be even greater.
