The risk of forest fires exploding and spreading is currently at the "Red Alert" level, says the Department of Forests and appeals to the public to be especially careful.
He adds that causing a fire, according to the Forests Law and the Prevention and Extinguishing of Fires in the Countryside Law, is an offense that carries severe penalties.
A warm appeal is made to the public to be especially careful during their excursions, completely avoiding actions and activities that may cause a fire.
In case someone notices smoke or fire, they are asked to call 1407 (Department of Forests) or 112 (Fire Service) immediately, the announcement concludes.
