According to the Police, after testimony, members of the police arrested the two young men, while during the investigations that followed, evidence related to the case was found. The two, according to information, give some allegations to the investigators who are being investigated, however the case is considered by the police to be solved.
The two suspects are expected to be brought before a court to request their detention.
The robbery was committed at 03:30 on Friday morning, when a company distributor noticed an unknown man inside the bakery, who had his face covered with a hood, trying to remove the cash register drawer.
With the help of the bakery employee, they tried to immobilize him, however the perpetrator managed to escape by taking the cash register drawer with him, which contained the amount of €300.
The perpetrator was waiting outside the bakery for a second person who was on a motorcycle and they fled together in an unknown direction.
Update - Filenews - The commission of the robbery in a bakery was admitted by one of the two suspects, who, according to the authorities, also revealed the involvement of his accomplice in the case. The tests that followed revealed that the two young men had previously stolen a motorcycle, which they used to go to the bakery.
With the threat of an adze, the 20-year-old suspect from Syria allegedly grabbed the cash register drawer. During his escape, a fight ensued with a company distributor, who was at the scene to deliver products.
The two suspects, aged 19 and 20, were brought before the Limassol District Court today (13/7). The Court approved the request of the TAE investigators and issued an eight-day detention order for them for the purpose of investigating the case.
According to the description given to the Police, the perpetrator was wearing a surgical mask, a black sweatshirt and beige shorts, with his head covered with the hood of the sweatshirt. The delivery man tried to immobilize him by grabbing him, resulting in a fight between the two. An employee of the bakery also rushed to help in the attempt to immobilize the perpetrator. However, despite their efforts, the perpetrator managed to escape, where a second person on a black motorcycle was waiting for him.
From the examinations that followed, the registration number of the motorcycle was identified and then its owner, who found that it had been stolen about an hour before the robbery.
From the analysis of closed circuit surveillance, it was found that around 2:15 in the early hours of Friday, two unknown persons, who were wearing hoods, stole the motorcycle. TAE investigators collected material from various points and managed to record the route of the perpetrators. In fact, as it was established, shortly before the theft of the motorcycle, the two suspects had met in an apartment building where the 19-year-old lives. An arrest warrant was obtained against him and he was arrested.
During his interrogation, the 19-year-old admitted to the theft of the motorcycle together with the 20-year-old suspect. He also stated that the latter then asked him to take him to the bakery. There he stopped the motorcycle and as he said, the 20-year-old entered the property and a few minutes later he returned running, before fleeing the scene.
The 19-year-old indicated to investigators both the place where the motorcycle was stolen and the place where it was abandoned after the robbery.
Further examinations identified the details of the second suspect, a 20-year-old from Syria, a permanent resident of Cyprus. After his arrest, a search of his home found a pair of beige shorts and a pair of sneakers, which seem to resemble those worn by the perpetrator of the robbery, in a closet in his bedroom.
When interrogated, the 20-year-old admitted to committing the robbery, confirming that his accomplice was the 19-year-old. At the same time, he made various allegations about the theft of the motorcycle and the way in which they planned and committed the robbery.

3-year-old boy falls from hotel window – Father in Court
The Police have arrested the 37-year-old father of the three-year-old boy who died on Sunday afternoon after falling from a hotel room window in Paphos, as part of their investigation into the circumstances of the tragedy.
The family is from Britain, who were in Cyprus on holiday. According to the information so far, the child fell from a room window on the fourth floor of the hotel. Initially, the information spoke of a fall from a balcony, however, it was later clarified that the fall occurred from a window.
The three-year-old boy was rushed to Paphos Hospital, where doctors pronounced him dead. The couple's second child, a little girl, was also with the family in Cyprus.
Update - Shocking details of the tragedy – Three-year-old boy “slipped” from his father’s hands
The information that has come to light about the circumstances under which the three-year-old boy from Britain lost his life, who fell from the fourth floor of a hotel in Paphos, is shocking. According to information, the father and grandfather of the child had left their rooms and were heading towards the elevator, in order to go to dinner.
While they were waiting for the elevator to arrive on the fourth floor, the father held the child in his arms and, according to the same information, made playful movements with him.
Next to the point where they were, there was a double window, approximately 2.5 to 3 meters long and approximately 1.20 meters high. During one of these movements, the child allegedly slipped from his father's arms and fell into the void.
The same information states that the father seems not to have realized that one of the two sections of the window was open.
The three-year-old boy fell from the fourth floor and suffered fatal injuries.
The Police continue their investigations to accurately determine all the circumstances of the tragedy, while the father was arrested as part of the investigation of the case and is expected to be brought before the Court for the issuance of a detention order.
This wording provides information without presenting it as definitively established facts, which is important while the case is still under investigation.
Update 2 - Scenes of ancient Greek tragedy took place in the morning at the Paphos District Court where the detention procedure for the 37-year-old father of the three-year-old boy who lost his life yesterday at the hotel where the British family is vacationing took place. The 37-year-old could not stand it when the police spokesman began to narrate the events and burst into tears, which forced the court to adjourn the session for a few minutes until the tragic father recovered.
It is noted that the 37-year-old appeared before the court without a lawyer, since where his relatives pointed out, the tragedy yesterday afternoon and the poor psychological state of all family members did not give them the opportunity to deal with procedural issues such as the legal representation of the father.
With the return of the court, the process continued, after it was first emphasized that due to the burdened psychological state of the father, the text would not be read by the police spokesman. It was simply explained by a translator to the suspect that his eight-day detention was requested, a fact to which he did not object, so the court proceeded to issue an eight-day detention order.
It was reported by the Police spokesman that five statements have been taken and a number of other testimonies remain from people who were at the scene of the tragedy, as well as a supplementary statement from the father himself.
The offenses he faces are those of causing death due to a reckless, reckless or dangerous act, failure to act as head of the family and failure to act as a person who had the care of another person.
At the same time, the legal autopsy on the body of the tragic child will be carried out at noon in the morgue of the Nicosia General Hospital by the medical examiners Angeliki Papetta and Orthodox Orthodoxou.
It is recalled that the family of British tourists had arrived on vacation in Paphos only yesterday at dawn and would stay at the hotel in the coastal area of Chloraka until the 25th of the month. At 6.00 in the afternoon, according to the Police investigations, the three-year-old boy was playing with his father in the corridor of the fourth floor, where their room was, when, under circumstances that are being investigated, he fell from an open window of the corridor into the void.
The little boy ended up on the main terrace of the hotel on the first floor and was fatally injured. An ambulance was called to the scene, but when the nurses arrived at the scene they found that the child was not recovering. At the Paphos Hospital where he was taken, the doctors on duty pronounced him dead.
The scene was cordoned off by members of the Paphos Police Department and investigations into the events that led to the tragic event began. Statements were taken, while at the same time, the authorities are examining footage from hotel cameras, in one of which, according to information from "F", the unfortunate little boy can be seen diving into the void at 6.02pm.
The British couple has another small child, a five-year-old girl in particular, who is with them on the tragic vacation. The woman's parents are in Paphos with the couple.

Even Russia is reportedly showing interest in the case of the so-called Edik, who is in the hands of the Dubai authorities in the information base.
We remind you that Edik was presented as the leader of the gang of Russian-Ukrainians, which is charged with the execution of leading members of the Greek Mafia, having expanded its activities in Cyprus.
Secure information of "F" from Greece coming from a reliable source shows the Russian authorities to have contacted the Greek government in the previous 24 hours about the suspect's case.
The Russians reportedly point out in their message that they hold the Greek authorities responsible for respecting Edik's rights, in case the United Arab Emirates proceeds with his extradition to Greece. More specifically, Edik is said to be characterized as a Russian citizen, while the official note refers to the need to preserve his physical integrity.
The above alleged development with the Russians, as "F" is in a position to know, has been put before circles dealing with the information sector in Cyprus and is under evaluation.
As our newspaper is in a position to know, although the interest of Russians in Edik is not surprising, it was not widely known that he also held a Russian passport. What was known was that he comes from countries of the former Soviet bloc. However, a source commented to us that "it cannot be ruled out that Edik was granted the status of a Russian citizen".
We remind you that reports in Greece have Edik being arrested by the Dubai authorities. The Greek authorities were looking for him, after they had issued a European arrest warrant (04/03/2024), but also a red notice (29/04/2025 – Interpol). On the basis of the red notice, Edik was allegedly taken into custody.
The Cyprus Police, which considers that it is directly affected by these developments, as the suspect has intense criminal activity in Cyprus through his associates on our island, checking local agents, placed on 02/05/2024 his name on the list of wanted persons "with instructions where he is located to be arrested".
The same information states that at the moment Edik's lawyers are making efforts to extradite him to Russia and not to Greece, where he is suspected of felonies. We remind you that, according to what an investigator of the Cyprus Police said last May in Court, the wanted man is behind illegal operation of factories and cigarette trading in Greece, as well as murders on demand that took place on Greek soil.
However, in the past, as we are informed, Edik was arrested in Dubai, but no action was ever taken against him.
As we have noted last Saturday in our report on "F", the Cyprus Police and the Hellenic Police have constant contacts on the issue of Edik, exchanging information. In fact, the Cypriot Police last May arrested a couple who live in Limassol and link it to financial crimes committed in Cyprus on behalf of the wanted man.
