MAJOR ROAD WORKS


Famagusta-Larnaca-Larnaca Airport Motorway

On the Larnaca Airport-Ayia Napa motorway, in both directions, including its interchanges, from Tuesday 19/05/2026 to Wednesday 10/06/2026, daily except Sundays and public holidays, between the hours of 08:30–16:30, grass cutting, collection and removal works will be carried out. During the works on the motorway, from Larnaca Airport to the exit to Xylotymvos, in both directions (successively), including its interchanges, part of the shoulder will be closed in sections.

On sections of the Larnaca Airport-Paralimni motorway, from the "Airport" roundabout to the "Agia Napa" roundabout, from 21 May 2026 to 05 June 2026, between the hours of 09:00 in the morning and 05:30 the next morning, weekdays except Public Holidays, Fridays and Weekends, emergency door installation works will be carried out on the central island. During the works, a section of the right lane, adjacent to the central island of the motorway, will be closed simultaneously in both directions, at approximately fifteen different points.


Limassol Bypass Road


On the Limassol Bypass Road and the Paphos-Limassol Motorway, tree and shrub maintenance work will be carried out on the central island, during which the right lane in both directions will be partially closed for a length of approximately 1500 m and traffic will be diverted to the left lane. The works will be carried out as follows:

(a) During the period 04/05/2026 – 30/06/2026 between the hours of 07:00 – 15:00 outside Kyraki, on the section from Erimis junction to Petra tou Romiou.

(b) On Saturdays 23/05/2026, 30/05/2026 and 06/06/2026, between the hours of 06:00 – 13:00, on the section of the Paphos-Limassol motorway, from Erimis junction to the New Port roundabout.


Limassol-Paphos Motorway


On the section of the Limassol-Paphos motorway, from the New Port roundabout to the Erimi junction, on Saturday 06/06/2026 between the hours of 06:00–13:00, maintenance work will be carried out on the trees and shrubs of the central island, during which the right lane will be partially closed in both directions for a length of approximately 1500 m and traffic will be diverted to the left lane.

On the motorway in both directions, from Wednesday 03/06/2026 to Wednesday 24/06/2026, excluding weekends, between the hours of 08:30-15:00, grass cutting work will be carried out on the shoulders, slopes and exits of the motorway. During the work, part of the shoulder of the motorway will be closed in sections.


Nicosia District


In Nicosia and Aglantzia, as part of the project “Improvement of Famagusta Avenue in Nicosia”, works lasting 24 months are underway from 20 February 2025, and are expected to be completed by 22 February 2027. Specifically, they include Famagusta Avenue from its junction with Kalavryton Street to the Sopaz roundabout, approximately 1.7 km long and a secondary road network approximately 0.8 km long, consisting of a section of Kalavryton, Paphos, Madaris and Semelis streets.


Larnaca District


In Oroklini, as part of the construction works of the Project “Improvement of the Larnaca - Dhekelia Coastal Road Phase C”, from Friday 27/03/2026, a section of approximately 400m of the southern lanes of the Coastal Road will be opened to traffic and will operate with two-way traffic using appropriate signage. In addition, from Friday 27/03/2026 and for three months, a section of Galaxia Street in Oroklini will remain closed, from the height of Fotis Pitta Street to Vachamon Street, and traffic will be diverted via Vachamon, Elpidos and Fotis Pitta Streets in Oroklini.

Also in Oroklini, as part of the construction works of the Project "Improvement of the Larnaca - Dhekelia Coastal Road Phase C", from Monday 27/04/2026 and for two months, in Oroklini, a section of approximately 200m of Mesopotamias Street, from the height of the Radisson Beach Hotel to the Organized Oroklini Beach will remain closed, and access will be provided via Oceanias and Afroditis Streets in Oroklini.

In Larnaca, on Dimitras Street, within the framework of the Project “Priority Projects of the Sustainable Urban Mobility Plan (SUMP) of Larnaca – Implementation of Bus Lanes and Cycle Paths”, during the period 18/05/2026-18/06/2026, works will be carried out to replace a pipe culvert and construct sidewalks. The works will be carried out on Dimitras Street, from its junction with Archbishop Makariou Avenue, in a section approximately 200 meters long. During the works, the above section will remain closed to traffic. As for the remaining section of Dimitras Street, approximately 150 meters long, from the roundabout to the tennis courts, this will be converted into a dead end and entry will only be allowed to business customers. Similarly, Apollonos Street, from its junction with Kikas and Froso Sountia Streets to Dimitras Street, will be converted into a dead end and entry will only be allowed to residents of the area.

In Larnaca, at the intersection of Theodorou Kolokotronis Street and Archiepiskopou Makariou III Avenue, near the Larnaca Port roundabout, within the framework of the Project “Priority Projects of the Sustainable Urban Mobility Plan (SUMP) of Larnaca - Implementation of Bus Lanes and Cycle Paths”, during the period 04/06/2026-17/06/2026, construction works on a light-controlled pedestrian crossing and sidewalks will be carried out. During the works on the above section, approximately 80 meters long, the left lane on Archbishop Makarios III Avenue will remain closed to traffic from the Larnaca Port roundabout towards the city center, and traffic will be directed to the right lane using appropriate road markings.

In Larnaca, on Artemis Avenue, opposite Kotza Tepe Street, within the framework of the Project “Priority Projects of the Sustainable Urban Mobility Plan (SUMP) of Larnaca – Implementation of Bus Lanes and Cycle Paths”, during the period 04/06/2026-15/06/2026, construction works of photo-controlled pedestrian crossings and sidewalks will be carried out. During the works on the above section, approximately 70 meters long, the left lane of Artemis Avenue, heading from the Courts towards the city center, will remain closed to traffic, and traffic will be directed to the right lane, with the use of appropriate road markings.
