As part of the national effort for responsible management of water resources, the Water Development Department has started the gradual distribution of water saving equipment to households and premises.
The distribution of water saving equipment to consumers is on a nationwide basis and starts from the Paphos District. Around 75,000 parcels will soon be available free of charge which will include 4 nozzles for faucets and 2 flow reducers for showers each.
The distribution will take place gradually in the coming months, so that the equipment reaches households and premises throughout Cyprus. Distribution has already begun at the beginning of the year 2026 in businesses and business premises with increased water use.
In the context of the action, a total of the following will be allocated:
– 2,000,000 nozzles for faucets
– 1,000,000 flow reducers for showers.
The equipment contributes substantially to the reduction of water consumption, up to 30%, without affecting comfort during use and without the user noticing a substantial difference. In this way, we all become part of the solution and not of the problem.
