The Department of Forests of the Ministry of Agriculture, Rural Development and Environment announces that, today, Sunday, June 14, 2026 at 05:20, a fire broke out at the "Pregos" location of the community of Neo Chorio in the province of Paphos.
The timely intervention of the forest firefighting forces prevented the spread of the fire, which was brought under full control at 06:10, after burning a ten-yard of reeds and wild vegetation.
Two people from the Forestry Department worked with a fire truck, as well as two people from the Fire Service with a fire truck.
According to the Department of Forests, given that three starting points were identified at the same time, it leads to the conclusion that the fire was set maliciously.
