The Civil Defense Force reminds that, as part of the control of the CY-Alert Population Early Warning System in a real operating environment, the last scheduled sending of a test alert to citizens' mobile phones takes place tomorrow, June 15, 2026.
The test notice will be sent nationwide, between the hours of 2:30 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. and will concern a scenario of kidnapping – missing person. This notification will not be accompanied by the characteristic loud sound in order to avoid causing disturbance to the citizens and it will indicate "TEST – TEST – TEST" or "EXERCISE – EXERCISE – EXERCISE".
It is emphasized that the notification will not concern a real incident and it is not required for citizens to take any action.
Finally, it is reminded that in order to receive the CY-Alert notifications, citizens must activate the corresponding settings on their devices. For guidance on the settings on their mobile phones, citizens can contact 1450. Instructions on how to activate notifications are also available in videos on the official social media accounts of the Civil Defense and on www.gov.cy/cy-alert website.
