DAMAGE AT NEW DOCUMENT CENTRE IN PAPHOS BEFORE IT IS OPENED - Pafos Live 19/6
The mayor of Paphos, Angelos Onisiforou, has given an order for any person who causes damage to the Museum of Historical Documentation should be reported immediately, regardless of age.
As he states in a statement, despite the fact that the project has not yet been inaugurated, people using scooters, skateboards and other means enter the area, causing damage to marbles, corners, railings and other facilities.
Mr. Onisiforou emphasizes that this space is not intended for such activities, but is a place of culture and historical memory that requires respect from all citizens.
At the same time, it announces that it has given clear instructions so that any person found to enter the area and cause damage is reported immediately, regardless of age.
Each incident, he notes, will be recorded and forwarded to the Police, while the Municipality will proceed with all the prescribed legal actions, including the imposition of out-of-court fines and the claim of compensation for the damages caused.
Mr. Onisiforou appeals to citizens to show responsibility and contribute to the protection of public property, stressing that the Museum of Historical Documentation was created with the money of the citizens and is the property of the entire local community, which must be preserved for future generations.
