ATTENTION - 98 DANGEROUS PRODUCTS DETECTED ON THE EU MARKET - Filenews 9/6


Ninety-eight products presenting a risk to the health and safety of consumers were identified on the markets of several EU Member States in the week beginning 1 June and have been notified to the Safety Gate System.

The announcement clarifies that these products for the purpose of controlling the Cypriot market, were allocated as follows, to the Consumer Protection Service, 16 products, the Department of Pharmaceutical Services 46 products, the Department of Road Transport 15 products, the Department of Electromechanical Services 14 products, the Department of Labour Inspection 4 products, the Department of Environment 3 products.

The Consumer Protection Service invites economic operators, in case they place or have placed these products on the market, to immediately notify the respective competent authority.

Furthermore, it calls on consumers, in case they own the above products, where it is deemed appropriate to stop using them, to return them to the store from which they have purchased them and to inform the respective competent authority.
