The Municipality of Akamas will immediately take care of the complete restoration of the Heroes' Monument in the Municipal District of Kissonerga, after the theft of the bust of the hero of EOKA 1955-59, Christos Miltiadous Kkelis.
"From the first moment, the services of the Municipality have been in close cooperation with the Police Directorate to facilitate the investigations," a statement said, referring to a "brutal insult and sacrilege" against historical memory.
The Municipality of Akamas appeals to anyone who knows anything about the incident to contact the authorities immediately.
