What is PIN?

The ETSC PIN (Road Safety Performance INdex) is a programme and policy tool of the European Transport Safety Council, launched in 2006, to assess and compare the road safety performance of EU Member States. Its aim is to promote best practices, reduce road accidents and monitor progress towards EU targets.

The PIN covers all areas of road safety, including user behaviour, infrastructure and vehicles.
