PAFOS TOURISM BOARD PROMOTES A NETWORK OF 8 THEMATIC MUSEUMS AND VISITOR CENTRES IN POLIS-AKAMAS AREA
The Pafos Regional Board of Tourism (PRBT) promotes a coordinated network of eight thematic museums and visitor centres across the wider Akamas and Polis Chrysochous area, aiming to further enrich the visitor experience and strengthen the cultural, environmental, and educational identity of the region.
The initiative forms part of the organisation’s broader strategy for the promotion of authentic, sustainable, and experience-based tourism, while simultaneously supporting rural communities, cultural heritage, biodiversity awareness, and thematic tourism development.
The network brings together a diverse collection of museums, interpretation centres, and educational attractions that offer interactive and immersive experiences for visitors of all ages and interests. The facilities are ideal for organised excursions, educational visits, special interest tourism, eco-tourism groups, family experiences, and tailor-made thematic itineraries.

• Sea & Culture Museum in Polis – Latchi
• Reptile & Amphibian Park in Polis -Neo Chorio
• Akamas Regional Avifauna & Flora Visitor Centre in Akamas-Kathikas
• Geology & Palaeontology Centre in Akamas- Arodes
• Turtle Museum in Akamas- Innia
• Rural Life & Traditions Centre in Polis-Droushia
• Basket Weaving Museum in Akamas- Innia
Through this coordinated effort, the Pafos Regional Board of Tourism seeks to highlight the unique cultural and natural wealth of the Akamas and Polis Chrysochous area, encouraging visitors to discover lesser-known regional and rural locations while enjoying meaningful and educational tourism experiences.
The initiative also contributes towards the enhancement of sustainable tourism practices and supports the diversification of the tourism product of the Pafos region, in line with modern travel trends focusing on authenticity, nature, culture, local identity, and experiential travel.
