The Council of Ministers today approved the first foreign language interuniversity undergraduate study program of the University of Cyprus, with the announcement to be made by the rector of the academic institution.
In a post on the internet, Professor Tasos Christofides stated the following: "I was very pleased to learn that today the Council of Ministers approved the first foreign language interuniversity undergraduate study program of the University of Cyprus. This is the YUFE Bachelor in Urban Sustainability Studies, an innovative program of the European alliance Young Universities for the Future of Europe, which will be offered from September 2026!
We had promised the wider society that we would make full use of the new legislative framework. Today, we are announcing the first important step and we are confident that, with the contribution of the State, we will very soon announce other competitive English-language undergraduate study programs with an eye on the future and internationalization.
The huge investment – infrastructure called the University of Cyprus is opening up even more to the world. In this opening, everyone is welcome!
The YUFE Bachelor in Urban Sustainability Studies program combines interdisciplinary learning, international experience, and sustainability, preparing students to meet the challenges of modern cities and societies."
