The betting sector in Cyprus continues to record an upward trend, as shown by the financial results announced by the National Betting Authority for the fourth quarter of 2025. The market saw a significant increase in key financial figures, with gross revenues reaching €395.5 million, recording an increase of 22% compared to the corresponding period of 2024.

Notably, for 2025, total gross revenue amounted to €1.33 billion, an increase of 8% compared to 2024. Class B (online betting) recipients continued to dominate, with Class B gross revenue reaching €301.47 million, marking a 27% increase compared to 2024.

The growth in player earnings was also impressive, reaching €348.15 million, an increase of 25% compared to the fourth quarter of 2024. The majority of the winnings are held by Class B players, with €271.46m coming from online platforms.

Increase in betting earnings

Betting earnings increased by 4%, reaching €47.37 million. for the fourth quarter of 2025. In particular, remuneration from Class A (land-based betting) decreased by 5% to €17.36 million, while remuneration from Class B increased by 10%, reaching €30.01 million.

Number of licensed premises

The number of licensed Class A premises increased marginally by 1% and amounted to 467 premises, with most of them located in Nicosia and Limassol. Also, the number of employees in licensed premises increased by 6%, reaching 1,556 employees.

Fight against illegal websites

The National Betting Authority continues the fight against illegal betting sites. In the fourth quarter of 2025, 22,009 illegal websites were recorded, with 184 new additions, recording an increase of 5% compared to the corresponding period of 2024.
