With intensified patrols and controls in all provinces, the actions of the Police continued yesterday, as well as during the night, to prevent the use of firecrackers, the lighting of lamps and phenomena of juvenile delinquency.

As part of these actions, Police patrols responded to various incidents of lighting fires, while in some cases timber intended for lighting lamps was found and received with the help of local authorities crews.

In the province of Limassol, during the night, members of the Police found in an open area, near a Church, three incendiary objects of the "Molotov cocktail" type, which were taken for further examination. The members of the Police responded to incidents of lighting a fire in an open area, where members of the Fire Service were also called, to extinguish the fires. Timber was found in five waste bins, which was received with the help of a crew of the Limassol Municipality.

In the province of Nicosia, as part of the actions of the Police, they responded to a number of incidents of firecracker use, as well as lighting a fire, where members of the Fire Service were also called to extinguish the fires. Quantities of timber found in two cases, and intended for lighting lamps, were received to be handed over to the local authorities.

Members of the Police in the provinces of Famagusta, Larnaca, Paphos, as well as in the Morphou area, carried out intensified patrols and checks, without any serious incident being noted.

The Police continues with an increased presence and targeted actions in all provinces, with the aim of preventing dangerous behaviours and enhancing the safety of citizens, while calling on the public to show responsibility and cooperate with the competent authorities.
