Health is a fundamental human right and it is the Government's obligation to ensure that every citizen has access to quality, safe and humane health services. This was emphasized by the President of the Republic, speaking this morning at the inauguration ceremony of the A&E of the Short-Term Hospitalization Department operating at Paphos Hospital.
Nikos Christodoulides pointed out that projects such as the one he inaugurated today are practical proof that the upgrading of the health sector is not just announcements and nice words for the Government. It is a continuous and steady course of improvement centred on people, he stressed.
We continue consistently and based on planning, for a health system that fully meets the needs of society and the expectations of citizens, without exclusions, said the President of the Republic.
The improvements do not stop here, we are proceeding at a rapid pace in the implementation of our announcement for the new Polis Chrysochous Hospital, he also said. This is a big project, said President Christodoulides, which, among many other things, will provide substantial solutions to the needs of the residents of the wider area, while at the same time it will decongest the Paphos General Hospital.

As you know, on Saturday I visited the border town of Tylliria for the third time, he said, and I got the feeling that the border residents there are waiting with great anticipation for the project of the new hospital of Polis Chrysochous.
I repeat that our goal is for the citizen to enjoy the same health services, whether he lives in Nicosia, Paphos, or in the border town of Tylliria, he concluded.
