THE FRAMEWORK FOR HEALTH & SAFETY AT WORK IS STRENGTHENED - Filenews 2/4

The Plenary Session of the Parliament passed a bill by MPs Andreas Kafkalias, Christos Christofias and Giorgos Koukoumas, on behalf of the AKEL-Left-New Forces parliamentary group, with the aim of strengthening the legislative framework governing the obligations of employers in matters of safety and health of workers.

In particular, the proposal amends the Law on Safety and Health at Work, in order to strengthen the existing legislative framework governing the obligation of employers to inform, train and train their employees to ensure safety and health in the workplace.

In particular, the proposed regulations provide that the employer ensures that information, instructions, information, education, training and supervision are provided to the employee from his first working day and in a language that he understands.

Also during the training and education period, the employee receives his salary with full remuneration from his employer.

In the context of the discussion of the draft law, the rapporteurs stated that the aim is to further ensure the prevention, protection and safety of workers regarding the risks they face in the workplace by strengthening the legislative framework governing education and training.
