The ultimatum given by the EOA Paphos for the abandonment of the three buildings in Paphos which were deemed dangerous for the life and safety of their occupants after the on-site inspections of the experts expires today.
The president of the EOA Paphos, Charalambos Pittokopitis, stressed last week that the Organization has already proceeded with the issuance of an evacuation order from the court, as well as contacts with other services involved such as Civil Defense, so that the whole operation can be carried out in a coordinated manner.
Mr. Pittokopitis stated that it is estimated that more than 60 people currently live in the three apartment buildings who, he pointed out, were informed for days that for their own safety they will have to leave them by today.
The president of EOA Paphos clarified that it is not the responsibility of the Organization to find accommodation and facilities for the tenants of dangerous buildings, but to ensure their timely removal from them in order to avoid new tragedies such as the recent one in Limassol.
