NIGHTS OF TERROR IN KATO PAPHOS - CONTINUOUS BURGLARIES AND THEFTS BRING DESPAIR TO RESIDENTS - ABANDONED HOTEL IN THE SPOTLIGHT - Filenews 20/4
Hundreds of residents of the central area of the touristic Kato Paphos have fallen into despair from the now daily burglaries and thefts in their properties. As reported by residents of the busy Tombs of the Kings Avenue in the area of Prometheus Street, there is serious concern among residents about the repeated burglaries and thefts in the last eight days, which seem, as they complain, to be linked to people illegally staying in an abandoned old hotel in the wider area.
The hotel, which has been closed for more than three years, complaining citizens report, shows clear signs of habitation, such as lights during the night, movements in corridors and clothes spread out on balconies.

Footage from security cameras that have premises in the area records three people who may be related to the incidents. Residents have also noticed suspicious movements inside the building. They complain that despite repeated reports, the response of the authorities is limited and the incidents continue every night.

The residents have organized informal surveillance of the area by themselves and have strengthened the security measures, however they demand the immediate intervention of the state, through the action of the Police, the insurance of the abandoned building and the increased patrols.
