The meeting of the EU Military Committee (EUMC Aways Days) was held for the first time in Nicosia, from 15 to 17 April, which was held within the framework of the Cyprus Presidency of the Council of the EU.
Both the Minister of Defence, Vassilis Palmas, the Hierarchy of the NGNGS, as well as the Chairman of the Military Committee, commented during their speech on the current geopolitical situation and the recent developments on a global scale, on the prospect of strengthening the EU's defence capability, as well as on the objectives of the Cyprus Presidency to strengthen the Union's Security and Defence policy.
During their stay in Cyprus, the Military Representatives visited the facilities of the National Guard where they were informed about its mission and work, the Observatory on Ledra Street, where they were informed about the prevailing political-military situation and the Military Cemetery of Makedonitissa, where the Chairman of the Military Committee, General Seán Clancy, laid a wreath paying tribute.
