A cash payment of €30 million. for the first quarter of 2026 was made today by KEDIPES, in the context of the repayment of the state aid received by the former Cyprus Cooperative Bank.
At the same time, KEDIPES, as the implementing body of the Rent Against Instalment plan, has contributed to date €78 million in the form of expenditure for the inclusion of 638 houses in the plan.
Since 2018, when KEDIPES started operating, the total amount of state aid repayment amounts to €1.8 billion.
This amount includes €1.71 billion. in cash state aid repayments, €78 million for the implementation of the Rent Against Instalment plan and €12 million in other repayments, such as instalments of the Estia plan.
KEDIPES also maintains a cash reserve of €60 million to finance the Rent Against Instalment scheme.
According to KEDIPES, the amount of the payment takes into account the liabilities to Eurobank Limited in relation to the repurchase of a portfolio of non-performing loans that were included in the Loan Guarantee Scheme, which ended on 30 January 2026.
It also takes into account the uncertainty surrounding the legislative framework governing the management of non-performing loans.
