RECORD PROJECTS AND EXPENDITURE FOR PAPHOS IN THE COMING PERIOD

RECORD PROJECTS AND EXPENDITURE FOR PAPHOS IN THE COMING PERIOD  - Filenews 22/3 - by Dora Christodoulou

The recent meeting in Paphos with the participation of the Minister of Transport, Communications and Works, who examined the major projects and plans in the province, essentially confirmed what the President of the Republic himself had announced at the end of 2025 at the pan-provincial conference held in Paphos: That is, that in 2026 and then in 2027, more than €230 million will flow to Paphos to carry out a total of 75 large and smaller development or infrastructure projects. This is a record number of projects and funds for the province, competent officials emphasize.

As confirmed in the meeting of the local bodies with Alexis Vafeadis, at the top of the list for another year is the Paphos-Polis Chrysochous highway, given the Government's position that it will be built with four traffic lanes and with additional access through Mesogi.

High on the agenda, stressed the competent Minister of Transport, Communications and Works, is the improvement of the existing Paphos-Polis road, until the completion of the new motorway, the construction of the Paphos Western Bypass, as well as the unblocking of the new road to the airport by resolving the environmental pending issues that are currently being raised.

In 2026, as President Christodoulidis had previously announced at the pan-provincial and specified at the Paphos meeting by Mr. Vafeadis, significant and many improvements to the road network of Geroskipou, Pegeia and the suburban area of the Municipality of Paphos should also be expected in Paphos, as well as the promotion of major projects such as the Marina and others.
