PARLIAMENT - RADIODIAGNOSTIC CENTERS WILL OPERATE WITH THE PHYSICAL PRESENCE OF A RADIOLOGIST - ANIMAL TESTING IS PROHIBITED - Filenews 13/3 by Marilena Panayi
The Parliament finally passed the law regulating the operation of radiology centers in Cyprus, essentially adopting what the Ministry of Health had included in its bill regarding the physical presence of a doctor specializing in radiology during imaging examinations.
The amendments that had been prepared in the previous days and related to this issue were withdrawn and an amendment was approved which was submitted by the parties DISY, AKEL, ELAM and DIPA and prohibits the examination of animals in centers that serve people. According to the amendment adopted, animals will be examined in specialized centers.
It is worth mentioning that throughout today the consultations between the parties on the amendments and on the possibility of a new postponement were intense. In fact, at the beginning of the discussion of the bill in the Plenary, the issue of postponement was raised again, which, however, was not accepted.
