GREAT OPPORTUNITY FOR CYPRIOT GRADUATES - EUROPEAN UNION COMPETITION FOR A NEW GENERATION OF ADMINISTRATORS

GREAT OPPORTUNITY FOR CYPRIOT GRADUATES - EUROPEAN UNION COMPETITION FOR A NEW GENERATION OF ADMINISTRATORS - Filenews 1/3 by Pieridou View

A major competition for the recruitment of new administrators has been announced, offering an important opportunity to young graduates from all Member States, including Cyprus. The competition is organised by the European Personnel Selection Office (EPSO) and aims to create a reserve list of 1,490 successful candidates for the post of administrator at grade AD5, which is the basic entry step for university graduates wishing to start a career in the European Union institutions.

Successful candidates will have the opportunity to contribute to the formulation and implementation of European policies, to the analysis of legislation, to the management of programmes and to the support of the Union's decision-making processes. These positions offer an international work environment, competitive salaries and significant career development prospects.

According to the official announcement, candidates must be citizens of a member state of the European Union, have a university degree of three years or more, and have knowledge of at least two official EU languages. No previous professional experience is required, which makes the competition particularly attractive for new graduates.

The selection process includes several stages of assessment, such as a logical thinking test, a knowledge test about the European Union, a digital skills assessment and a written test on European topics. The aim of these tests is to ensure that successful candidates have the necessary analytical and communication skills, critical thinking and the ability to work in a multicultural environment.

Applications must be submitted online via the EPSO platform by 10 March 2026. Candidates will take the exams remotely, while those selected will be placed on a reserve list from which the European institutions will be able to recruit according to their needs.

The competition reflects the European Union's continued need to attract young, educated and multilingual professionals, capable of facing the challenges of an increasingly complex international environment. For Cyprus, this announcement is a particularly important opportunity for those who meet the criteria to actively participate in the functioning and formulation of European policy, while strengthening their country's presence in the European institutions.

Cypriot graduates are invited to seize this opportunity and claim a place at the heart of European administration, contributing to the future of Europe.

In this context, the European Parliament Office in Cyprus is organising and offering a free seminar on the EPSO competition, on Thursday 5 March from 17:00 – 19:00, with the aim of informing and guiding interested parties on the application process and the selection stages. The seminar is aimed at graduates and young professionals interested in starting a career in the European Union and will take place both in person and online.

Those interested in attending the free seminar should register by filling in the relevant registration form through the relevant publication on the Social Media of the European Parliament Office in Cyprus, on Facebook (@European Parliament Office in Cyprus) and Instagram (@epcyprus).

The seminar is a valuable opportunity for candidates to receive practical information and advice, increasing their chances of success in a highly competitive, but also important competition for the future of European public administration.
