From next Friday, the beneficiaries of the General Health System who wish to do so, will be able to use, when executing their prescriptions in the pharmacies of the system, a barcode, the well-known barcode, without having to verbally inform the pharmacist about their personal data.
According to the Health Insurance Organization, the barcode of the prescription will now be available electronically through the Beneficiary Portal, so that it can be presented directly to the pharmacy via mobile phone or tablet or other portable device.
The barcode will appear in the Beneficiary Portal, in the "Available Referrals" section and specifically in the "Prescription" category. The pharmacist will be able to scan it and execute the prescription immediately, without the need for any verbal reference of personal data.
It is reminded that beneficiaries, in any case, can show their political identity to the pharmacist if they do not wish to give their personal information orally.
