The theft of the busts of the heroes in Germasogeia is publicly denounced in a post by the Deputy Mayor of Germasogeia, referring to an act that directly affects the historical memory and cultural identity of the place.
In a post, Christos Papamichael unequivocally condemns the event, stressing that such actions cannot erase the contribution and heroism of the people who are honoured through the monuments.
"The theft of the busts of the heroes of Germasogeia is not just an act of vandalism. It is a shameful and absolutely condemnable action, which insults the history and memory of our country. Those who think that with such actions they can erase the contribution and heroism of these people, are making a big mistake. Their heroism cannot be stolen, destroyed and forgotten. Our society must stand against such phenomena and preserve its historical identity."
