CYPRUS HAS NAMED A SUSPECT IN PLANNING THE MURDERS OF ISRAELIS - ANNOUNCEMENT FROM A FEDERAL PROSECUTOR IN GERMANY - Filenews 25/3 by Fanis Makridis

25-year-old Kamel M,. who was arrested in Cyprus and allegedly participated in the organization of "murderous attacks on Israeli or Jewish facilities in Germany and Europe'', was extradited to Germany.

This is stated in a statement by the office of the German Federal Prosecutor General for the young man from Lebanon, who was handcuffed by members of the Cyprus Police at Larnaca airport on March 6.

He had arrived at the international airport on a connecting flight from Lebanon, before departing for another European destination. His arrest was made on the basis of a red notice and a European arrest warrant by the German authorities.

The 25-year-old, as reported by "F", did not object to the request for his extradition and last Thursday he was transported to the Central European country by air. According to the official information of the Federal Prosecutor of Germany, the next day, i.e. Friday 20/3, his arrest warrant was executed.

"An arrest warrant has been executed for the supply of weapons for the foreign terrorist organization Hamas," the German prosecutor's office said in an official statement, referring to earlier official information.

In it, Kamel M. was shown to be actively involved in the - supported by Iran - Hamas - and to have supplied another person with 300 cartridges. The offense, for which the Lebanese-born 25-year-old is being investigated, allegedly took place in August 2024 and is part of "preparation for murderous Hamas attacks on Israeli or Jewish facilities in Germany and Europe".

According to the official information in Germany, police officers from the Federal Office for Criminal Affairs searched the defendant's residence in Berlin, two days after his arrest in Cyprus (8/3/2026).

In a relevant information, it is stated: "The accused is considered highly suspected of participation in a foreign terrorist organization. His arrest warrant mainly attributes the following: Kamel M. belongs to the terrorist organization Hamas. In August 2025, through the separately prosecuted Mohammad S., he handed over to Abed Al G. 300 cartridges ready for use. The latter handed over the cartridges a little later to Mohammed A. for further transport."

Eight arrests

As "F" noted in a previous publication, the German authorities had already made arrests for dismantling the group and in this context they had arrested three people last fall. A total of eight arrests have been made along with that of Kamel M.

Specifically, as noted in a report by Deutsche Welle, "at the beginning of October 2025, the authorities arrested in Berlin three people who were considered suspected members of Hamas. By the end of the year, other arrests followed: one in London, one on the German-Czech border and one on the German-Danish border. More recently, in January, Mohamed S. was arrested at Berlin airport upon arrival from Beirut."
