Soprano Eleni Charalambous is one of the rising presences of the younger generation of Cyprus lyrical artists. Based in Cologne and artistic activity in various European countries, she has already appeared in major concert venues and festivals, having recently debuted her role as Mikaela in Bizet's opera Carmen. With her on stage will be the renowned pianist Mariola Haritidou.
Enjoy a musical journey through different cultures and genres, featuring art songs inspired by folk traditions and poetry from across Europe. Works by Komitas, Antonín Dvořák, Sergei Rachmaninoff, Clara Schumann, Francis Poulenc, Maurice Ravel, Fernando Obradors and Manou Hadzidaki highlight the richness of singing traditions.
The program continues on the opera stage with famous arias by Giacomo Puccini, Francesco Cilea, Ruperto Chapí and Giuseppe Verdi, capturing intense emotions and unforgettable characters. An evening that travels from the familiar song to the dramatic opera expression.
