Among the top 19 beaches in Europe for 2026, Fig Tree Bay beach in Protaras is included.
In an announcement, the Municipality of Paralimni – Deryneia expresses its special satisfaction for the important international distinction of Fig Tree Bay beach in the annual Travellers' Choice awards of the travel platform Tripadvisor.
Fig Tree Bay is the only Cypriot beach included in this year's European list, "confirming its timeless value as a top sea destination and further enhancing the international image of Protaras and the Municipality of Paralimni – Deryneia".
The Municipality expresses warm thanks "to the hundreds of thousands of Cypriot and foreign visitors who, through their evaluations and reviews, have always highlighted Fig Tree Bay as the top beach in Cyprus. Their trust and preference are the strongest confirmation of the efforts made in terms of cleanliness, safety, accessibility and organization."
"The Municipality of Paralimni – Deryneia consistently continues to prioritize the continuous upgrading of the infrastructure and services provided, with the aim of improving the overall visitor experience and further strengthening the position of Protaras as one of the most attractive seaside destinations in Europe," the announcement concludes.
